hello, again. in this space are stills from improvisational movement rituals i create and record as a way to ground and connect with my soul. i call this space ‘standing room only’ bc for the last six years i’ve lived in tiny spaces where i have only a bit of standing room to wiggle things out. it’s more than enough for now and the limitations bring new insights about how i can move my body in space - and find spaciousness and articulation in my body. new vocabulary is discovered and new places inside of myself feel opened. reminding me there’s always room enough to grow, deep if not wide. this practice is magic to me. in the winter of 2018/19, a seed that was planted years ago began to squirm and sprout… and so i ventured to share my improvisational musings in a sacred (but not precious), reflective, fuck-it-all practice by facilicating the opportunity for others. ‘improv as ritual’ is a class/workshop expereince where participants are guided through an improvisational movement exploration and encouraged to create a personal somatic ritual from it. it’s my hope to offer this again in physical spaces when times are different. for now…this. <3
